This short tutorial will outline the steps on how to install and configure the Microsoft Visual Studio Code editor together with the Eqela extension, and how to enable the "Eqela Green" color theme in Visual Studio Code. Those that may be previously used to working on the Eqela App Studio should feel right at home with this color theme.
First and foremost, if you have not done so already, download and install the latest version of Visual Studio Code.
Once you have installed Visual Studio Code, let us then install the Eqela extension, which also includes the "Eqela Green" color theme. This can be installed directly from within Visual Studio Code through the standard mechanism: First press "Ctrl+P", then type ext install EQ Programming Language Support, then click the install button. Please see the image below:
(This will automatically download and install the Eqela extension through the Visual Studio Marketplace. You may also visit the Eqela extension page on Visual Studio Marketplace for additional information.)
Once you have downloaded the extension, you need to restart Visual Studio Code. Click the "Restart Now" button that appears after installing the Eqela theme.
After the restart, for us to be able to use the Eqela Green theme, we need to go to File -> Preferences:
Then select Color Theme:
Then choose the Eqela Green theme from the list of available themes:
After choosing the Eqela Green theme, your Visual Studio Code should look somewhat like the image shown below:
Syntax highlighting for the EQ programming language should then also be automatically enabled.
Installation is now complete. You have successfully installed Visual Studio Code together with the Eqela extension and color theme. Happy coding! #DeveloptheImpossible
